Wawa made history by opening its largest and newest store in downtown Philadelphia. The 11,500 square foot (1,070 m) store features a wall of living vegetation, large digital displays, sofas, coffee seats and two Philly First murals. Customers can also order special wall coffee mugs and enjoy the limited edition Molten Lava Liberty Latte, made with hot chocolate and hot latte, topped with whipped cream, chocolate sauce and topped with red, white & blue. Mayor Jim Kenney and other city officials helped cut the ribbon at the new location.
The shiny new store has eight different reserve cafes, identified by its elegant black and gold design urn labeled with tasting notes such as “earthy and mineral” with notes of mushrooms and sweet tobacco leaves. Other made-to-order coffee drinks include milk tea and Vietnamese iced coffees. Customers can also find a selection of bagels and donuts, baguettes, French breads and buttered croissants in flavors such as multigrain feta cheese and spinach. The acidic Health Ade Pink Lady apple, made from organic fruit, is also an out-of-the-ordinary hit. The entire store pays tribute to the city of Brotherly Love. This new store stands out thanks to its sleeker style, with the company calling it a “historic and one-of-a-kind store” when the first details were revealed in April.
