Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) is one of the most rapidly growing restaurant companies in the world. It operates in 34 countries, with more than 5,800 stores worldwide. Jollibee is the flagship brand of JFC, the largest and fastest-growing Asian restaurant company in the world. With 70 stores in North America, 1,500 stores worldwide and many more to come, their mission is to spread the joy of eating.
Not many people are aware of all the other food businesses that JFC owns beyond its flagship brand. JFC is the parent company and largest food service network in the Philippines, and it also operates several other food brands in the country and around the world. The flagship brand is the largest fast-food chain in the Philippines. Tony Tan Caktiong opened the first Jollibee store in 1978 (although it started as an ice cream shop that opened its doors in 1975).
Today, there are 272 Greenwich branches in the Philippines. There are currently 591 Mang Inasal branches across the country. There are 97 Burger King stores in the country today. JFC has 38 Pho24 branches in Vietnam, 16 in Indonesia and one just opened in the Philippines this year, for a total of 55 stores.
The first Panda Express in the Philippines opened at SM Megamall later that year, with a second branch soon to open at SM City North EDSA. Yonghe King now has 349 stores across China. Hong Zhuang Yuan currently has 32 branches in China. JFC currently operates three Dunkin' Donuts stores in China (another company owns the Dunkin' Donuts franchise in the Philippines).
There are two Hard Rock Cafes in Vietnam. Smashburger currently has 235 outlets in the US and other countries around the world. CBTL currently has 1,061 branches worldwide. Jollibee Group CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong said that despite the pandemic, they would open more Jollibee stores in different countries starting next year. Jollibee opened its first branch in Hong Kong in 1996 in Central District when it was still under British administration. JFC has branches of Jollibee outside of the Philippines in other countries throughout Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Middle East, North America and Italy.
The company is aiming to become one of the top five restaurant companies in the world. In Malaysia, there was only one point of sale during its 1990s operations located in Sabah. In the United States, there are locations in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Florida, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Illinois, Washington, Maryland, Virginia and Guam. This list only includes Jollibee fast-food chain brand of JFC and excludes other brands owned by them. In Middle East their main market is Filipino workers abroad while Vietnam's local population is their main target market. The brands owned by JFC are Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, Red Ribbon, Mang Inasal, Yonghe King, Hong Zhuang Yuan, Smashburger and Burger King; Panda Express; PHO24; and Yoshinoya in the Philippines; as well as Dunkin' and Tim Ho Wan in certain territories of China. JFC's entry into European market was a result of a joint venture with Singapore Blackbird Holdings. As reported by The Washington Times back in 1990s there were two locations of Jollibee Taiwan and one location Brunei along with 58 locations within Philippines.
