Are you looking for a Wawa store in North Jersey? You're in luck! Wawa is expanding its presence in the Garden State with three new locations planned and two more pending approval. Wawa is a beloved convenience store chain that has been around since the late 19th century. It started as a small processing plant in Wawa, Pennsylvania and has since grown to over 900 stores across the East Coast. With more than 1.7 million residents living within a five-mile radius of the next Wawa, it will serve one of the largest customer bases on a site in the United States.
The first of these new locations is set to open in North Bergen on May 26th. Located at 7408 Tonnelle Avenue, this store will offer limited-edition Wawa t-shirts for the first 100 customers, a charity hoagie-making competition, giveaways, comments from Wawa store leaders, local officials and community partners, and more. Doors open at 8am and the opening officially begins at 9am. The second location is planned for Plainfield this fall.
However, not everyone is happy to have them as their new neighbors. Neighbors near White Horse Pike on Route 30 and the junction at Waterford-Blue Anchor Road are suing the municipality in response to a Wawa proposal that received planning board approval. With its aggressive growth plan to open 1800 locations by 2030, Wawa is sure to become an even bigger part of New Jersey's landscape. So if you're looking for a convenient place to grab a hoagie or fill up your tank, keep an eye out for a Wawa near you!.
